Whether you’ve just moved in or you think it’s time to give your home a facelift, when it’s time to remodel, it’s time to remodel. Sometimes you’ll find that there are only a few small things here and there to fix, other times you’ll find that one problem leads to another hidden one, making for quite the condo design project. Though you may want to get carried away during your remodel and design the perfect space that you’ve always dreamed of, there are a few things to keep in mind, such as the value of your condo. If you end up going too wild, you’ll find that your home value may decrease, meaning that you’ll want to be more subtle with some changes compared to others. Here are some tips on what to do during your condo remodel.

Tips for Remodeling Your Condo

New paint throughout our space

One of the easiest ways to upgrade and update your condo is to simply add a few new layers of paint. Not only is painting cheap and effective, but it makes the entire space look brand new and fresh. The key is to not go overboard with your color section. Whites, tans, light grays, and light greens and soft blues are a great way to go. This is because these colors are not only fresh looking, but easy on the eyes and blend well with pretty much any color scheme you choose for your décor.

Add style with new floors

Another great way to add a little luxury to your condo is through new floors. When choosing new floors however, you’ll want to avoid carpet and cheap fake floors. Going with these choices can actually hurt the value of your home. Besides, they’re not really the nicest to look at and can be difficult to clean after a few years of use. The best route? A nice colored wood floor.

Add some light with new fixtures

This one can be a little tricky, though it’s worth looking into. Light fixtures can make or break a space, meaning that you’ll want to focus on fixtures that work with the décor scheme already in place, not against it. For example, if your bedroom is light in color with hues of greens and blues, you’ll want to focus on a white or light tan light. If you venture forward with a blue or green one, the colors will have to contrast nicely, otherwise it can come out a bit tacky.

What’s a kitchen without a counter?

Brand new beautiful counters always make a difference, especially if you have a breakfast nook attached to your kitchen. Just make sure that you get counters that won’t easily stain. Another trick is to always use a cutting board while preparing meals so that you don’t damage your new counter top before you’ve had the chance to really enjoy it.

Remodeling and redesign a condo doesn’t have to be a big mess. With these tips and the help of a condo redesign team, you’ll be on your way to a great space to call home in no time.
